The Chiroprac-TIC Adjustment occurs when the Innate inside the patient receives your influence. Influence being; your presence, your finger tips, your hands or WHATEVER. None of that really matters to the Chiroprac-TIC Principle as long as the Chiroprac-TOR is connecting with Innate within. The Adjustment occurs when Innate grabs the force [energy] entering the body and does what needs to be done with it. Whether your touch is quick, slow, hard, soft, or WHATEVER it doesn't matter. Innate is able to use all naturally right, well-intentioned energies. Like all inputs to your body, if you do not except the force it will not affect you.
This is why ALL CHIROPRACTIC TECHNICS WITH THE RIGHT INTENT WORK ONLY WHEN THE INNATE WITHIN IS CONTACTED. The emphasis is not on the technic (technique), but on the Chiroprac-TORS awareness and connection with the receiver, Innate Intelligence the active housekeeper of every living being.
"You can argue a point, when you know the facts on both sides." Dr. Downes.
Well here are the facts. Whether Chiropractic is...
-A 'snap, crackle, pop' with a Hole lot of 'crunch' of the Atlas [HIO's Specific Adjusting with that 'extra something'] with an INTENT of increasing Innate mental awareness communicating from brain above to body below,
-A 'tug O' war contest' with the spine [CBP's Corrective Care Approach of Global, Mirror Image manipulating] with an INTENT of restoring nerve flow as a result of normal curves of the spine, 'Posture being the window to health' ,
-Or a playing the spine like a grand piano [Network Spinal Analysis], each touch being and artistic almost ballerina-esque movement of the arms twisting and twirling before the ENORMOUS CLIMAX of a... 'soft tape' at specific spinal gateways, with the INTENT of stimulating the frontal cortex to more connect the brain to body for an ultimate Somatic (body) Awareness response.
...your main concern should be WHY you are doing what you are doing. Not HOW you are doing what you are doing. Because healing comes from within, not from without.
WHAT IS YOUR INTENT? Is is to crack backs? Is it to straighten spines? Is it to cure disease?
A Chiropractors INTENT is to remove interferences to allow the body to greater express the life flow of God [Innate] threw the entire being! The INTENT of allowing a person to remember their divine perfectness!
TECHNICS DO NOT HEAL PEOPLE! INNATE WITHIN DOES THE HEALING! Read that one more time.
The HOW we practice Chiropractic will NEVER line up with the Principle of Chiropractic, the WHY. Meaning, Chiropractors will never have the healing power in their hands. It will always be in the persons Innate which makes the adjustment. BJ said, "The less you do the more probable it is right. And the more you do the more it is wrong." So remove the major subluxation and let Innate re-grow that sickness into life!
J. Clay Thompson, the developer of Thompson Drop Technique, used to say, "There is a BIG difference between a GOOD Doctor and a BAD Doctor, but little to no difference between a GOOD Doctor and NO DOCTOR AT ALL."
Think about that the next time you see yourself as a healer or someone who fixes people. Innate doesn't need your help!!! Innate just needs no interference from you [the Doctor] or the body it resides in. It just need the patient to remove the interferences by receiving your adjustments. This is the PURPOSE of Chiropractic.
Dr. Bourdeinyi, probably one of the most learned persons we have on campus, said it the other day in class, "We will NEVER know everything about the body, but we still have to keep leaning as much as we can." So if we will never know it all, then when we are connecting with our people in our practices we will never be able to give them exactly what they need. A matter of fact no health care provider knowz exactly what a person needs. Only the Innate Wisdom within knowz exactly what is needed and when needed. Chiroprac-TIC [the Principle], notice I didn't say Chiroprac-TOR, is the only profession humble enough to admit that the best a Doctor can do is help facilitate health by showing people where they can find true health. True health is found when a persons educated lets go, stops trying to control and lets Innate run the show.
The one thing we do know is that Innate knowz all. Innate knowz how many hairs you have on your head. Innate knowz what clothes you are going to wear to school next week. Innate knowz how many cells make up your physical and it knowz how many millions to sluff off every millisecond. Innate knowz.
The finite educated mind knowz a little and has the ability to know a little bit more than that. But we will never be all knowing. Therefore our walk [our practice of the Principle] will always be off.
Just a little bit though, people with Ph D's and "real" Doctorates know it all they think. I hope you caught that.
The best that we can do is keep on working to attain balance with the Principle. The greater we level our practice with our Principle the greater we will be able to serve the Infinite God by serving man. Remember The Principle... a Universal Intelligence in all matter, giving it all of its properties and actions, thus maintaining it in existence.
Chiropractors don't give Adjustments. Innate Adjusts. Innate makes the changes in the body when a Chiropractor has touched at the Right Place, Right Time, Right Direction with the right INTENT. It is foolish to even think of setting yourself upon a pedestal and saying, "I adjusted that 5mm, left, lateral Atlas to be 5mm, right, back to neutral, opening up that spinal canal." Give me a break. Sounds a lot like a medical doctor prescribing 500mL of insulin for diabetes to me. As if the doctor knowz exactly how much insulin or how many millimeters you need. I understand there is a certain amount of education that is needed and extreme circumstances call for desperate measures. The finite mind might not know exactly what is needed, but I do agree that we understand the body enough to know when there is too much or not enough to an extent. And a quick fix many times is neccesary. But remember only Innate knowz exactly what the body needs to attain a higher level of health and life.
So when a person comes under your influence, know that if you didn't connect with the Innate inside a Chiropractic Adjustment will not occur. And Innate does not work on our time. We work on her time.
You might have thought I was pulling your leg this whole time. Maybe I was. Cause that is Chiroprac-TIC TOO!!! So remember it Ain't About Technique! It is about the Innate Principle!

No one has ever definitively explained how, or why we like some people and dislike others. No one has ever been able to pinpoint why some people react with laughter while others in tears to joyous news. No one has ever figured out when, where or how John Doe became a huge success or miserable failure. Certainly no one has ever solved the mysteries of human biology.
We all know bits and pieces, and we all have our own theories and ideas, yet single-handedly we are unable to form the entire picture of life. This is largely due to the fact that as individuals we are forced to think and act in a mechanistic fashion instead of in a vitalistic or holistic manner. That is to say, although we may attempt to comprehend human function at a holistic level, our actual independent efforts defeat the quest. The universe is perfect and whole and all aspects of it are harmoniously integrated. We can not attempt to explain the universe, or any aspect of it, if we separate ourselves from it and all its components while attempting to unlock the wisdom of the universe. This is why partnership and discussion are so important to growth and re-connection to our greater selves.
We can not independently attain our greatest potential. Through dialogue, interaction and communication with others, as well as with all that surrounds us, we can achieve greater understanding of ourselves and of life. These interactions help lead us towards healthier and wholesome living, attitudes and beliefs. Interestingly, the goal of chiropractic, and of life, is whole integration and full communication to achieve a greater potential. Therefore, a chiropractic life is not limited to, or solely defined by the adjustment (re: a chiropractor performs and adjustment, chiropracTIC incorporates much more). Instead, chiropractic is a process of re-connecting ourselves to the energy of the universe through constant self-renewal. We achieve renewal through LEARNING. We learn when we surround ourselves in health, with people who engage us and live in a rich environment.
Learning and enlightenment leads us to eliminate the MAJOR subluxations of our lives, and the universe- the restrictions and confines of the paradigms harboured in our minds. When we are uninhibited, unimpinged, unrestricted, we achieve our greatest potential and become our greatest selves.
Challenge yourselves to the ultimate adjustment. Engage yourself, challenge yourself to eliminate the subluxations ABOVE occiput! Talk to someone who inspires you, or intimidates you. Have lunch with someone from CBP and HIO! Eat fish! Read. Talk. Grow. ADIO.

I have had the privilege of attending Life University over the past two years. Although, it has not been a very exciting time to be here, I say that it is a privilege because of the changes that can be seen happening. Before I decided to come here, I had a cousin who was in the D.C. program who would always talk about the fanatic president they had at Life University. He told me about assemblies where the whole school would get pumped up and completely enthusiastic about this thing called "Chiropractic." It sounded like a great place to be, an awesome environment to be learning a new profession in. When I came here to visit my cousin, even before making the decision to attend, I was completely impressed with the energy not only on campus, but also within the people who I met who were students.
That trip, and learning about what this magnificent profession was all about, made me make the decision to drop everything that I was doing (which meant dropping a career in sales that I had worked very hard to achieve) and restart a new life here at Life University.
Unfortunately, as soon as I decided to come here, I learned that the man who I was very excited about meeting, Dr. Sid Williams was no longer a part of the school. I was disappointed at first but never considered it to be as detrimental as it would prove to be. Over the past two years, I have witnessed the passion and heart of this school decrease to a point near death. The excitement and vitality that I experienced on my trip was gone. Sure there were a few individuals who I met who were truly inspired with Chiropractic and contributed nothing but positiveness. But the overall energy was seemingly hopeless. One of the most exciting things I have learned about since being at Life is the concept of the sympathetic/parasympathetic systems of the body.
These systems do not pertain only to our physiology but to our whole lifestyles. The entire administration, faculty and student body here at Life has been living in Fight/Flight mode for the past two and a half years. It is pretty obvious in the way that not only the students have been acting, with their (partially including myself) constant complaints and negativity, but also the insecureness of the teachers and staff of the university. Not to mention the lack of organization and mistakes that have been made on part of the University (Financial Aid, Registrars Office…) and ourselves.
The blood in our prefrontal cortexes has definitely been residing in our primitive brain for TOO LONG. But there is GOOD NEWS… Dr. Guy Riekman!!! The energy that this man brings to our campus is unbelievable. To be once again led by a Doctor of Chiropractic with the passion and enthusiasm comparable to Dr. Sid Williams is truly a blessing to this institution. I had the privilege of attending LP3 this weekend, and to see how perfectly organized and executed that event ran was an awesome feeling.
To have the opportunity to hear World Class Scientists like Dr. Bruce Lipton and Dr. Candace Pert was a true sign of the direction that this school is heading. I am only in first quarter and realize that I have a lot to learn about everything, however, it is a relief to once again feel that I AM in the RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME to learn Chiropractic. Let's try living Para-sympathetically for a while, let's put our brains together, and start thinking about what WE as students can do to make life at Life a better place. There is SO much more we can do to add to the positive energy that Dr. Riekman has initiated. Let's get involved. We can start by feeling better about ourselves. Be happy that you’re at Life, and be SURE that there is NO OTHER PLACE BETTER for you to be learning Chiropractic in the ENTIRE WORLD…. GOD BLESS!!!!!

Recently, I had a discussion with an instructor of mine about the concept of "Faith and Chiropractic." He told the class that he did not incorporate God and faith into his practice and that we should not mix the two in our practices. I was dumbfounded.
In front of the class, I verbally challenged him by questioning him, "without faith in a higher being, how can our patients truly comprehend the full scope of Chiropractic care." It is the existence of God or a Universal Intelligence that Stevenson's 33 Principles of Chiropractic are founded upon. Without the idea of a higher being how can you also hold the principle that as B.J. Palmer (the developer of Chiropractic) said, healing occurs from "Above-Down-Inside-Out?" It is through this higher being that provides us with our innate sense of healing. According to Dr. Greg Loman, ten out of ten pastors, he interviewed all agree that healing comes from above, down, through the nervous system, and to the specific sick organ. Healing does not come spontaneously from nothing, nor from a doctor, or a pill; rather healing comes to the patient from above, down, inside, out.
Now if you want to limit your practice to neck and back pain, because that is what ancient studies show and that is what Chiropractic is considered from the allopathic point of view - I say to you - yes, you do not need faith in your practice.
Yet, if you step out of the "allopathic box" that draws a distinct line between medicine and God, you will realize how special and unique Chiropractic care is. Chiropractic was founded on re-uniting man the physical with man the spiritual according D.D. Palmer (founder of Chiropractic). If you do not want to limit your services and you want to care for and educate children, pregnant women, and the elderly on lifetime wellness, then you need to incorporate some aspect of faith in your practice. One can easily seek out recent studies that show Chiropractic can help promote healthy lifestyles as people are brought back to harmony and balance by having their interference or subluxations removed. When you as the Chiropractor remove the subluxation, you allow their innate healing ability to come from above, down, inside, out. Thus the patient's own body heals the asthma, infertility, cancer, and the rest of the symptotolgy – then I contend you have used some aspect of faith.
When I say you need faith in your practice, I do not mean you should run to the nearest church or temple and buy religious artifacts for your office. Your faith should be in your character, the way you talk, the way you act, and how you care for your patients. Faith is not merely the acknowledgement of a higher being, but rather your evolution as a better person to serve your higher being.
As Dr. Ben Lerner points out the two predominant views on faith include:
"One; that we're out there on our own, and dealing with whatever fate or luck would throw at us. If we mess up, that's bad karma dude! Two; that we have a special friend who watches over us. That we have a destiny and when we work towards it, serve Him, and help others - He is lining up everything in the Universe to help us. In this scenario, He loves us and even likes us and when we mess up (like we all do quite frequently) if we earnestly turn away from the mistakes and back towards Him (repent), all is forgiven."
With the two given views, I like the latter one much more - it is logical to me that this world we live in is not chaotic but everything has a purpose behind it. Also the second explanation of faith makes life worth living and worth serving others. So instead of being lost at sea, I say faith is our compass to guide us and our care for patients in the right direction.

We as a society need to look back at the values, character, and principles that we have been taught. Throughout history we have been taught that all men are created equal. Since this truth is something that we all can agree on, we need to look at the inward verses the outward expression of an individual. What a person stands for is the key, not what they look like.
Let us compare two people. The first person is one that claims that they are Christian. They believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven, abortion is murder, marriage is designed for man and women alone, sin is doing anything independent from God, loves his neighbor as himself , loves the Lord with all their heart, etc. Although you may not agree with this person you would have to respect their belief if they never wavered nor compromised their standards. Now let us say the second person believes those same things above but their actions are the following. They chose to attend strip clubs, participate in sexual immorality, and do drugs. You and I would say that their actions do not live up to or support their said beliefs. You and I would probably call them a hypocrite.
Now as future business leaders and chiropractors who would you choose to do business with? Would it be with someone who is unmoved and stays true to their beliefs or the second person who compromises their beliefs? For me I would much rather do business or have a friendship with a person who acts out what they believe. I have been a victim of this two face-ness or hypocrisy that is all too evident in society today.
There was a point in time when we did not have computers, which now determine your credit score, which shows your projected credibility. Over 100 years ago all you had was a your word and a hand shake. Your word was considered gold and a handshake was as binding as a contract today. We as a society have lost the value of truth and have moved toward a society of liars. When are we as individuals going to take ownership of our actions and words versus blaming others? There is nothing this world can offer us all the time. It will make us happy for a moment and alter our perception of the people around us, but then after that newness wears off we fall back into the same rut of looking for that quick fix. But nothing in life has a quick fix, and everything takes time.
We need to examine is our own personal hearts for change. It is said that the heart is deceitfully wicked and is also the wellspring of life. How can the wellspring of life be chosen? Simple. By getting back to the basics of life where character matters mot then anything else. No compromising of the morals that we have been taught. This is a continual process and will not happen overnight. After all we are all works in progress.

The Great chiropracTOR: Believes with all his or her heart in the chiropracTIC innate principle of health and healing. They like to talk to their patients about our innate philosophy. This doctor has more belief and expectations that innate will change the patients for the better - following the adjustment - than anything else in the health care industry. They are not impressed with medical technology to the point that it replaces the respect and belief in their practice or profession. This doctor is about changing lives and changing the world. Each one sees TIC as the only true health science. This type of doctor is ALWAYS more impressed with chiropractic science than with medical science.
The Average chiropracTOR: Live their lives in fear of failing their patients, their families, and themselves. They keep feeling that TIC is not enough - that they cannot clear out their patient's subluxations, and that their profession has not been "proven". Being accepted by their patients is more important than getting their patients to understand chiropracTIC. They think the world owes them something.
